The best Kitchen Paint Color Trends of 2022
There is much debate
about the best kitchen paint colors. Some theories say that warm red helps
stimulate the appetite, while others suggest that crisp white makes the space
look cleaner. At the end of the day, however, the most important thing is that
you find a kitchen paint color that makes you happy when you step into the
space—especially assuming that you're attempting to invest more energy cooking
and less cash on takeout. If you're looking to refresh your kitchen, but aren't
sure exactly what shade you're looking for, kitchen paint color trends can be a
helpful place to start.
Thus, we requested that plan specialists share their #1 kitchen variety patterns for 2022. Below, find everything from soft neutrals to moody blues—and see which one looks like your dream kitchen vision.
Warm White
You can't go wrong with
a classic—but sometimes, it just needs reinvention. "Exploratory neutrals
are a huge color trend in our recent kitchen remodels and new build
projects," says Devin Shafer, lead interior designer at Decorilla.
"As purchasers — and fashioners — burnt out on the times of dark and beige
wall tones, they started to track down inventive ways of keeping these proven
varieties." As for the kitchen, configuration envisioned, Shaffer says
off-white paint doesn't make the kitchen look too stark and sterile, and soft
gray cabinets add more dimension to the space.
Soft pink
If you're ready for
something a little more fresh and playful—but not overwhelming—Corban de la
Vega, chief marketing officer at DecorMatters, recommends Pink Dynasty by
Benjamin Moore. "[It's] the perfect combination between a bold and muted
pink; it's not too much and not too little," she says, adding that the
shade adds vibrancy and youthfulness to a room without overdoing it. "We
frequently see this variety in kitchen cupboards, and it makes a special
kitchen space," he says.
The Moody Blues
On the cooler side of
the color spectrum, designer Jessica Nelson, founder of an eponymous design
firm, says her clients love deep, moody blues that add life to the day. He says
rich shades like blue look almost black in some light during the day and deep cobalt.
For a more unique take on the cool, dimensional color trend, Nelson likes
Eggplant, a shade of purple eggplant from Farrow & Ball.
Smooth Black
For lovers of modern,
luxurious style, this kitchen paint color trend is for you. This kitchen design
by House of One Interior Design was painted using Sherwin Williams Tricorn
Black over natural white oak. "It gives the space a sleek look and
provides a great contrast to the diamond-shaped calacatta gold marble tiles we
used as a backsplash," says Brittany Farinas, the firm's CEO and creative
director.
Sage Green
This soft green shade
has been an interior design trend for a while now, and its versatility gives
the color serious lasting power. "Sage green is the perfect addition to
any design style, especially natural, boho, minimalist, and Scandinavian
design," says de la Vega. "Such a quiet and natural tone, it makes a
peaceful and nonpartisan stylish."
